Environmental rehabilitation and conservation
The environment has been degraded through soil erosion, tree cutting, pollution and this affects the community livelihood and health negatively in many ways
Achievements
i. Reduction of the environmental pollution generated by sugarcane
factories through advocacy and awareness creation activities.
ii. Improvement of the vegetation cover in CREP Programme’s areas of
operation through raising, distributing and planting over 150,000 tree
seedlings.
iii. Enhancement of the waste disposal systems of 3 urban centres through
awareness campaigns, education activities and installation of over 100
disposal bins.
